A roof coating is an additional layer of protection placed on a finished roof. Roof coating functions as a means of enhancing the roof’s ability to remain undamaged from rain, hail, wind and sunlight. Roof coating reflects solar waves, thereby reducing the room temperature and reducing load on air-conditioner and saves energy.
Roof Shield, ASTM certified product, is a 2-in-1 product. It is an innovative solar insulating and leak-proofing product. It is a mixture of high grade acrylic resin and specially selected additives. Its unique formulation provides unsurpassed quality and performance, significantly improving thermal and insulating properties by reflecting more than 80% of the sun’s UV rays.
Roof Shield provides excellent weather resistance and waterproofing properties, bridges hairline cracks, and is mildew, fungus and algae resistant.
Roof Shield coated buildings reduce energy cost by a minimum of 20 to 40% hitherto wasted through air-conditioner, etc., and hence comes under green product. The product gives assured surface temperature (applied area) reduction by a minimum of 18ºC during summer.
Roof Shield is ideal for residential, commercial and industrial applications. It can be used in existing as well as new buildings. Roof Shield acts like a shield to prevent Roof Expansion and Contraction besides reducing the chance of Roof Leakage and lasts longer. It can be applied on all types of surfaces such as concrete, asbestos, galvalum, tiles etc.
Over the next 15 years, the Emirates intends to cut its energy and water demand by 30%. Under Dubai’s Green Master plan and as per Dubai Municipality Regulations for New Buildings, all opaque external roofing surfaces must comply with a minimum Roof Solar Reflective Index (SRI) value ≥ 78 SRI for Flat and Low Sloped Roofs for a minimum of seventy five percent (75%) of the roof area according to Table 304.01(1). Roof Shield, with SRI value > 102 is the right product to achieve Dubai’s green master plan.
